Front-End Developer

Weehawken, NJ – Open to Remote

6-Month Contract w. Potential for Extension & Conversion

$50-55/hr

The Front-End Developer should have a strong understanding of layout aesthetics and a rigor for programming. You are more than a coder, you build experiences. This unique expertise should combine user interface (UI) know-how with CSS, JavaScript, HTML and SFCC proficiency. In-depth knowledge of web technologies gained from research and professional experience. In addition, an understanding of the entire development process, including design, development, and deployment, with some back-end knowledge, is a must. Strong understanding of industry trends, Prototyping platforms, and content management systems, as well as software programs like the Adobe Creative Suite. Experience with responsive and adaptive design with and affinity for Angular is also a plus.  

Responsibilities:

  • 60%-Create and execute all front-end code requirements including wireframes and creative assets to develop code for assigned small to medium sized projects and ensure cross-browser compatibility and standard compliancy. Responsible for making changes on Salesforce platform or creating code on dev environments.
  • 20%-Contribute to functional requirements and system design discussions
  • 10%- Work with the SEO analyst to implement SEO optimizations
  • 10%-Troubleshoot and resolve system defects and bugs

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and working experience with CSS, CSS3, JavaScript (jQuery), HTML, HTML5 and SFCC
  • In-depth knowledge of web technologies
  • Experience with server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS 
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with responsive and adaptive design.
  • Experience ith AngularJS, KnockoutJS, BackboneJS, ReactJS is also a plus.
  • Knowledge of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX 
  • Basic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image. Familiarity with tools such as Gimp or Photoshop is a plus. 
  • Knowledge of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them. 
  • Knowledge of code versioning tools, such as {{Git / Mercurial / SVN}} 
  • Good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that application will adhere to them.
