Summary:

The purpose of this position is to support company image and reputation towards One UNFI, supporting strategic corporate objectives and projects within the Corporate Affairs team and broader UNFI enterprise. The graphic designer is instrumental in ensuring the UNFI brand equity is protected across both physical and digital entities. This individual will concept, design, and produce high-quality creative deliverables for various stakeholders across the company and ensure new programs and initiatives are appropriately branded. This individual will work closely with the Digital & Branding Manager on team, reporting to the Senior Manager of Branding.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to the designs for medium and high priority creative initiatives tied to company strategy.
  • Delivers on a variety of creative projects including ads, presentations, logos, brand identity, events, and other print and digital collateral. Takes projects from concept through final file production and delivery using standard industry computer graphics software. Prepares technically sound files for prepress/printer.
  • Collaborate with Sr. Designer to oversees the development and evolution of UNFI’s Brand Guide and provides a detailed review of assets to ensure brand compliance.
  • Works with stakeholders and agency Project Manager to determine project schedules, solutions and scope.
  • Adapts and extends existing design materials to new or additional assets while adhering to established brand standards.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relations, communications, and coordination with UNFI associates and external vendors.
  • Works with Branding Senior Manager and team to improve processes, complete training or personal development.
  • Performs other relevant job duties as required.

 

Position Requirements:

Education:

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Fine arts, Business or similar studies

Experience:

  • Preferred minimum of 2-3 years marketing experience or design field
  • Portfolio samples required

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:

  • Proficiency in all industry standard software programs including but not limited to Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, and Acrobat in a Mac environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Understanding of pre-press processes including color techniques, digital file formats, document set-up, typography, and
  • printing options and techniques.
  • Preferred knowledge of digital image editing, and website design.
  • Ability to manage multiple project priorities within demanding timeframes
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and quality
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to apply brand standards in creative ways
  • Ability to follow direction and respond well to constructive criticism.
  • Organized, reliable, and eager to ask relevant questions if more information is needed
  • Some travel may be required.
