Intake Processing Clerk

 

Position Summary

 

The Jefferson County Attorney’s Office Division of Child Support is seeking to hire a detail-oriented administrative professional to process documents on actions filed that require a new Jefferson County Court Docket Number.  

 

Responsibilities and Duties

 

  • Maintains annual record of all new child support actions filed (by type and volume)
  • Sorts, copies, and assembles documents for deliver to the court clerk’s office for filing when initiating new action, including responding to registrations and petitions.
  • Reviews Petitions in Intergovernmental responding cases and prepares actions for filing the action with the court, as well as service of the civil summons.
  • Documents case numbers when received from the court clerk, completes creation of hard copy case file and distributes as appropriate.
  • Documents case information in the child support system.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

 

 

Minimum Requirements

SKILLS/ABILITIES: Must be a mature individual with the ability to work with attorneys and colleagues. have the ability to work with the public in a professional manner, showing respect, patience, and understanding. Possess strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to retain detailed information and high level of attention to detail is needed. Exhibit the ability to follow direction from others and follow through with appropriate information or action when requested.  Must work well in a team environment. Computer experience preferred.

 

EDUCATION: High school graduate or equivalent.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS AND/OR PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position is located in the Jefferson County Attorney’s Office, Child Support Division, 315 West Muhammad Ali Boulevard, Louisville, Ky. 40202. Work is performed in an office setting. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Daily use of computers.  Mobility within the office including movement from floor to floor and personal interaction with employees in department.

 

Salary: $16/hour

Caseworker – Establishment Department

 

Position Summary

 

The Jefferson County Attorney’s Office Division of Child Support is hiring caseworkers in our Establishment Department to establish paternity, set child support orders, and to establish medical support orders on behalf of custodial parents, guardians or the Cabinet for Health and Family Services.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

 

  • Reviews cases and drafts appropriate paternity establishment and child support orders in accordance with federal laws, for review by Assistant County Attorneys.
  • Researches numerous data bases to verify the necessity and propriety of the establishment orders.
  • Calculates child support obligations using the state guidelines.
  • Updates and maintains case information in the child support system at a high level of accuracy.

 

Minimum Requirements
