Workforce Analyst II (SOII/QCEW)
Hybrid Role in Frankfort, KY
Compensation: Starting at $18+
Full time – 40 hours
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our Client is seeking a Workforce Analyst II to perform professional statistical analysis related to labor market, workforce, and occupational safety and health data. This role is responsible for gathering, coding, compiling, verifying, editing, and analyzing data for the Survey of Occupational Injuries and Illnesses (SOII) and the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW) programs, following U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) guidelines. The position involves routine exposure to detailed information regarding work-related illnesses, injuries, and fatalities. The Workforce Analyst II will collect and tabulate employment and wage information, contact employers to obtain and clarify data, ensure data accuracy, assign industry and occupational codes, and assist in the preparation of reports and publications. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical and communication skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with MS Office products.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Conduct the Survey of Occupational Injuries and Illnesses (SOII), collecting, coding, and analyzing workplace accident and injury data to identify types of incidents and affected industries.
- Perform address refinement on sample units prior to survey solicitation and consult with survey respondents to ensure compliance with federal deadlines.
- Collect and tabulate data for the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW), including number of establishments, monthly employment, quarterly wages, industry classification, physical location, mailing address, and ownership sector.
- Review, edit, and verify information reported by employers for completeness and accuracy; identify and resolve discrepancies, and perform follow-up contact (via phone, mail, email, and fax) to obtain clarification or collect missing data.
- Analyze and document predecessor/successor relationships to ensure that business transfers are correctly recorded.
- Assign valid occupational and industry codes using the Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) system and the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS).
- Assist in the preparation of reports and tables for publication, respond to data requests, and perform other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- One year of professional experience analyzing statistical data, preparing labor market or workforce information reports, or related experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office products.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience collecting, coding, and analyzing labor market, occupational safety, or wage data.
- Ability to assign occupational and industry codes using SOC and NAICS systems.
- Ability to review, verify, and resolve discrepancies in reported data.
- Comfort with contacting employers via phone, mail, email, and fax to collect or clarify information.
