Operational Accountant II – Junior Cash Management Specialist
Location: Charlotte, NC – Hybrid, 3 days onsite/week
Contract: 12-month W2 contract
Pay Rate: $26/hr W2
Job Summary
Calculated Hire is seeking a Junior Cash Management Specialist to support Commercial Lending payment operations for a Fortune 100 Financial Services company.
This position is heavily focused on the processing and posting of payments associated with commercial loans. The ideal candidate will bring experience within cash management, payment processing, treasury operations, commercial lending operations, or a similar high-volume financial operations environment.
The team is currently transitioning its commercial loan portfolio from AFS to Loan IQ, resulting in increased loan onboarding and cash-processing volume. Previous experience with Loan IQ and/or AFS is beneficial but is not required for candidates with a strong payments or cash-management operations background.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and post payments associated with commercial loans
- Perform daily cash management and payment-processing activities within a high-volume operational environment
- Enter and maintain transaction information within commercial lending systems
- Support cash-flow and payment reconciliation activities, including reconciliation involving general ledger accounts
- Research and resolve payment discrepancies, exceptions, and transaction-related issues
- Ensure payments and transactions are processed accurately and within established deadlines
- Support increasing transaction volumes as additional commercial loans are onboarded
- Collaborate with internal teams to research and resolve payment-related issues
- Follow established operational controls, procedures, and risk requirements
- Escalate payment or reconciliation issues appropriately when additional review is required
The day-to-day work specifically includes entering information into Loan IQ, processing/posting payments, and potentially performing GL reconciliation, so candidates need to understand how cash is moving- not simply have general commercial-loan exposure.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in cash management, payment processing, treasury operations, commercial lending operations, or similar financial operations
- Hands-on experience processing, posting, researching, or reconciling payments
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a transaction-processing environment
- Ability to manage high volumes of work and meet established deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with internal partners
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Commercial lending or commercial loan operations experience
- Loan IQ (LIQ) experience
- AFS experience
- Experience with payment or cash reconciliation and general ledger activity
- Experience with ACH, wires, or other payment-processing activities
- Treasury or cash management operations experience
- Experience supporting commercial banking clients or loan portfolios
- Microsoft Excel proficiency
